A MOVING PICTURE
The Official Teaser Trailer for The Rock in the Sea. Filmed on Inishtrahull Island and against the backdrop of Malin Head, Donegal.
A film born from personal experience, and a story conceived from the idea of finding hope at the darkest moments in life, where it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel. The film is an exploration of personal pain, suffering, anger and depression. It deals with overcoming illness, pain and guilt, whilst letting go of anger and resentment, as a path towards a path of better health, reflection and self improvement.
WHATS IN THE FRAME
I was compelled to make this film in confinement for many life altering reasons, and pondered how I could translate it from script to screen. In this film I set out to explore themes of: grief, isolation, despair and identity. This film is a journey of self discovery, growth and reflection, with an important message of having the strength to overcome personal obstacles that may seem world ending. The greatest conflict to resolve is always from within.
